Chiller and Heater Control Panel Build for the Nuclear Sector
Sector:
Energy & Nuclear
Type:
New Build - Control System
Platform:
Allen Bradley
Certification:
CE / UKCA
Summary
DelaControl built a batch of chiller and heater control panels to an existing customer design, with all wiring and cable specified in Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) materials in line with nuclear sector requirements. Panels were built, point-to-point verified, and presented for Factory Acceptance Test at DelaControl's Bristol facility.
Challenge
A customer required the build of multiple chiller and heater control panels to their own existing design, with all electrical installation materials specified to Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) standards appropriate for the nuclear environment in which the panels would operate.
The customer needed a capable panel builder who could work from supplied schematics and general arrangement drawings, manage consumables and installation materials, and deliver finished panels through a witnessed Factory Acceptance Test process.
Solution
DelaControl built the panels at its Bristol facility, working from customer-supplied schematics and general arrangement drawings. All cable, Flexibar, and trunking used throughout were of Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) specification, as required for the nuclear application. The customer free-issued all backplates, metalwork, and components; DelaControl supplied all consumables, busbar, cable, fixings, DIN rail, and trunking.
Each panel was subject to a full point-to-point wiring check against the supplied drawings, along with standard electrical tests carried out in accordance with BS EN 61439-1, BS EN 61439-2, and BS EN 60204-1:2018.
On completion of the build, the customer was invited to witness a Factory Acceptance Test at DelaControl's facility, providing direct assurance of build quality and compliance before collection.
