Summary
DelaControl designed and built a Maker Breaker Control Panel for a marine equipment manufacturer, working to a customer-supplied drawing pack and delivering a fully tested, CE/UKCA-compliant panel with a Siemens ET 200SP distributed I/O assembly at its heart.
Challenge
The customer required a control panel to be built to their own supplied drawings and bill of materials for use in a maker/breaker clamp system. The panel needed to be built to print from customer-supplied electrical schematics and a general arrangement, with 230 V mains supply and Siemens PROFINET-based distributed I/O as specified.
Solution
DelaControl manufactured the panel at its Bristol facility, assembling all components in accordance with the customer-supplied schematics and layout. The panel is built around a Siemens ET 200SP PROFINET interface head with digital input, digital output, and analogue I/O expansion modules, supported by a Phoenix Contact 24 V DC / 20 A power supply with integrated electronic circuit protection. A Pilz PNOZsigma dual-channel safety relay handles the emergency stop function, with a Schneider 40 mm mushroom-head emergency stop button on the panel face.
All enclosure metalwork is Rittal, finished in RAL 7035, with Weidmuller terminals and Phoenix Contact distribution blocks throughout. An incoming isolator was added to the design to provide safe isolation of the 230 V mains supply.
Pre-delivery testing was carried out using I/O simulation, and the customer was invited to a Factory Acceptance Test at the DelaControl site. The completed documentation package includes a Declaration of Conformity (LVD and EMC directives), an inspection and test certificate, thermal calculations performed using Rittal Therm software, and a SISTEMA report (ISO 13849-1) confirming the achieved Performance Level for the safety functions.
